Great to drive and excellently thought out, the VW Crafter is easy to operate and does things a little differently from its contemporaries. The Second Generation model was re-designed from the ground up – pretty unusual for a light commercial vehicle (LCV). The Volkswagen Crafter comes in two wheelbases, three body lengths and a choice of three roof heights. The dimensions to keep in mind are:
All three options are relatively large, with load length numbers starting at 3.4m, topping out at 4.8m in total. In terms of payloads, ratings start at 735kg, and go as high as 1,403kg.
The first Volkswagen Crafter was unveiled in 2006. It was the biggest 3 to 5-tonne van produced by Volkswagen and has proven to be a very popular van since. Although it has gone through facelifts and redesigns over the years, the Crafter is still one of the best and most practical large vans in the market today.
