Leasing Fleet Vans: Fords Answer to Uniform

Ford Badge

Needing vans for your business can be a hefty expense, especially with running costs and maintenance to consider, but it does not have to be your biggest bill, and with such a wide range of choices, you are sure to find exactly what you need. To be accepted under fleet insurance, the minimum number of vans you must have is two and though different companies have their own cut off amount, it is agreed that the limit does not exist.

A Fleet Is…

Firstly, we need to look at what a fleet actually is. Concisely, a fleet vehicle is considered an asset to a company, owned as part of a series to conduct business, and handle daily work. Think of the postal workers, delivering your mail – they all have the same van to match their shorts and bright red jackets.
A fleet of vans is far more practical than expecting workers to travel by public transport and is easier to handle than allowing them to use their own vehicles. There could be a litany of unforeseeable problems, from getting lost or being in an accident.
The wonderful thing about having a fleet for your business is the branding opportunity behind it – be your own advert and reap the rewards! Studies show that customers are more likely to trust a company that has its image directly on the vehicle, and let’s face it, it is a great perk to have at work, strengthening moral amongst employees.

Ford’s Fleet

With the release of the all-new Fleet Transit Custom, it is the perfect time to explore their fleet options too. Your choices are not limited by any stretch of the imagination, and the services they offer are top notch, whether you are looking for a small and medium enterprise (SME) or larger vans to get the job done. But most importantly, you want to make sure that you will be looked after once the finance has been settled and the dotted line signed. When you lease a fleet with Ford, they offer some of the best aftersales services imaginable, including (but not limited to) Ford Pro Service that give you same-day inspections and fleet maintenance, Ford Assistance – “roadside rescue, repair and recovery” – and Ford Protect, an extended warranty for parts and labour.

Electric Fleets

Fleet Vans - Ford

We can no longer discuss fleet vehicles for business without mentioning the possibilities that come with having electric vans. Thanks to government funding, they are far more accessible than ever before, and for business they are a tax right off! Plus, if you tend to do a lot of work in bustling cities, you may need to think about ULEZ and Clean Air taxes – with zero emissions, an electric fleet could you save you thousands. As with all things business, the need for electric fleets has created a demand, and Ford has conquered the ‘supply’ part exceptionally. Their e-Transits are nothing short of brilliant, performing just like the good ol’ Ford vans are supposed to, with a range to suit all businesses, no matter the trade. You can get a payload of up to 1,758kg, a gross vehicle wight of up to 4.25-tonnes and total load volumes of around 15.1m3. The Ford e-Transit also earned the title as the Best Zero Emission Large Van at the Fleet News Awards of 2023, and with their power options – 183ps and 269ps – and a range of between 150-180 miles, it is easy to see why. The 68kWh battery and rapid charging are just the cherries on top.
Keep an eye out too – Ford are also releasing brand new electric vans this year!
